Job summary

Elsevier's Advanced Data Solutions team seeks a Technical Consultant (Pre-Sales) to drive discovery, shape data-driven use cases, and demonstrate how our data, APIs, and AI capabilities enable trusted analytics and knowledge graphs for enterprise customers.

You will partner with Sales and Professional Services across regions, translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders, and help design PoCs while staying current with AI developments.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of data-driven analytics workflows.
• Working knowledge of Generative AI and LLM-based solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud ecosystems and integration patterns.
• Degree in science, technology, or data, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in data-intensive enterprise environments.
• Understanding of how data and software support research and decision-making.
• Experience delivering technical demonstrations and presentations.
• Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Confidence leading complex technical discussions and travel readiness.
• Ability to travel to customer sites and industry events.

Responsibilities

• Pre-sales solution leadership with discovery, use-case shaping, and value narratives.
• Design and deliver tailored demonstrations of data, APIs, and AI capabilities.
• Scope proposals and support PoCs, evaluations, and pilots.
• Act as trusted technical advisor during the sales cycle.
• Stay current with AI developments and advise on practical deployments.
