Job summary

Opti Staffing Group is hiring a Technical Inside Sales Representative to support process controls and instrumentation. The role will engage with customers, outside sales reps, and internal teams to identify and deliver solutions for industrial applications.

The position requires technical aptitude, strong communication, and the ability to review specifications, quotes, and orders. This is an onsite role located in Ridgefield/Woodland, WA with a standard Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Technical education in instrumentation, automation, controls, or related field.
• Experience with technical or industrial products.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to understand customer applications and explain technical information clearly.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical, application, and product support to customers and sales representatives.
• Help customers identify products and solutions based on their specific application needs.
• Provide pricing, availability, and delivery information.
• Review incoming orders for proper product selection and application.
• Support Outside Sales with lead qualification and follow-up.
• Reviewing technical documents, bid specifications, and project requirements.
• Assisting with quotes, proposals, and project bids.
• Responding to technical and product-related questions from customers and sales representatives.

What You\'ll Do

As a Technical Inside Sales Representative, you\'ll work directly with customers, outside sales representatives, and internal teams to help identify and deliver the right solutions for a variety of industrial applications.

You\'ll be responsible for:

• Providing technical, application, and product support to customers and sales representatives
• Helping customers identify products and solutions based on their specific application needs
• Providing pricing, availability, and delivery information
• Reviewing incoming orders for proper product selection and application
• Supporting Outside Sales with lead qualification and follow-up
• Reviewing technical documents, bid specifications, and project requirements
• Assisting with quotes, proposals, and project bids
• Responding to technical and product-related questions from customers and sales representatives
• Communicating clearly with customers throughout the quoting and ordering process
• Troubleshooting issues and identifying practical solutions
• Working independently while collaborating with the broader sales and technical team

What You Need

• Technical education in instrumentation, automation, controls, or a related field OR equivalent hands-on industry experience
• Experience working with technical or industrial products
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to understand customer applications and recommend appropriate solutions
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications
• Comfortable working with pricing, quotes, orders, and detailed product information
• Strong written communication, grammar, spelling, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  
  

Preferred

• Experience with process instrumentation, industrial automation, or process controls
• Knowledge of flow, level, pressure, temperature, analytical instrumentation, valves, or similar industrial products
• Previous technical inside sales, applications, technical customer service, or sales support experience
• Experience supporting Outside Sales representatives
• Experience reviewing RFQs, bid specifications, or technical project requirements
• Background with an industrial distributor, manufacturer\'s representative, controls integrator, or automation company
