Job summary

Indeed, the world's #1 job site, is seeking a Software Engineer VI to act as a Technical Fellow for the Interop space, guiding architecture across integrations with external ATS/HRIS partners. You will own architectural direction, work with senior engineers, product leads, and executives to set strategy, and ensure scalable, reliable B2B integrations.

You will help manage architectural changes, document decisions, and support the Solutions Engineering team on complex partner integrations,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; 15+ years experience or Master's with 12+ years or PhD with 8+ years
• Experience designing and evolving service-oriented architectures, distributed systems, APIs, and data platforms (SQL and NoSQL)
• Experience applying AI/ML capabilities to accelerate architecture, development velocity, and integration quality at scale
• Demonstrated ownership and accountability as a principal technical and product contributor
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to influence technical direction across engineering, product, and executive audiences

Responsibilities

• Own architectural assessment and simplification efforts across multiple teams or domains
• Partner with senior engineers, technical leaders, and business partners to guide architectural decisions and system evolution
• Establish and promote effective mechanisms for documenting and communicating architectural decisions and trade-offs
• Translate architectural needs and user feedback into improvements for shared platforms, tools, or processes
• Contribute code and design improvements to internal systems as appropriate, setting a high bar for quality and maintainability
• Influence architectural standards and best practices across the engineering organization through collaboration and example
