Job summary

Indeed, the world’s leading job site, seeks a Software Engineer VI to serve as a Technical Fellow for the Interop space. You’ll direct architectural strategy across integrations with external ATS/HRIS partners, guiding high-impact decisions with senior engineers and executives, while ensuring scalable, reliable B2B integrations and setting technical standards.

You will mentor a team of 40–50 engineers, collaborate with product leads, and drive architectural clarity and growth opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 15+ years experience; or Master's with 12+ years; or PhD with 8+ years.
• Experience designing and evolving service-oriented architectures, distributed systems, APIs, and data platforms (SQL and NoSQL).
• Experience applying AI/ML capabilities to accelerate architecture, development velocity, and integration quality at scale.
• Demonstrated ownership and accountability as a principal technical and product contributor.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to influence technical direction across engineering, product, and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own architectural assessment and simplification across multiple teams or domains.
• Partner with senior engineers, technical leaders, and business partners to guide architectural decisions and system evolution.
• Establish and promote documentation and communication mechanisms for architectural decisions and trade-offs.
• Translate architectural needs and user feedback into improvements for shared platforms, tools, or processes.
• Contribute code and design improvements to internal systems, maintaining high quality and maintainability.
• Influence architectural standards and best practices across the engineering organization.
