Job summary

Indeed, the world's #1 job site, is seeking a Software Engineer VI to serve as a Technical Fellow for the Interop space, guiding architectural direction across integration domains and shaping strategy with senior engineers and executives.

You will own cross-team architecture, document decisions, and mentor a 40-50 engineer org, delivering reliable B2B integrations with Big-4 ATS/HRIS partners and tooling that scales with growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of related experience; or a Master's with 12+ years; or a PhD with 8+ years.
• Experience designing and evolving service-oriented architectures, distributed systems, APIs, and data platforms (SQL and NoSQL).
• Experience applying AI/ML capabilities to accelerate architecture, development velocity, and integration quality at scale.
• Demonstrated ownership and accountability as a principal technical and product contributor.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Own architectural assessment and simplification efforts across multiple teams or domains.
• Partner with senior engineers, technical leaders, and business partners to guide architectural decisions and system evolution.
• Establish and promote effective mechanisms for documenting and communicating architectural decisions and trade-offs.
• Translate architectural needs and user feedback into improvements for shared platforms, tools, or processes.
• Contribute code and design improvements to internal systems as appropriate, setting a high bar for quality and maintainability.
• Influence architectural standards and best practices across the engineering organization through collaboration and example.
