Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. seeks a Technical Editor to support our North America East Region with multiple locations and potential remote/hybrid work.

You will edit documents from engineers and scientists to ensure clarity, consistency, and quality, under the direction of a Senior Technical Editor. The role requires strong editing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with subject-matter experts while meeting client deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technical writing or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience editing complex technical documents for clarity and accuracy.
• Experience as primary reviewer ensuring document quality and consistency.
• Ability to identify missing material and improve voice and content.
• Excellent formatting, writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.
• Thrives in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Organize, review, and edit technical, business, and marketing material per guidelines.
• Apply science/engineering knowledge to ensure audience-appropriate content.
• Proofread for spelling, grammar, clarity, and formatting consistency.
• Review documents and suggest revisions on content, scope, and format.
• Recommend layouts, graphics, charts to clarify objectives.
• Coordinate with subject-matter experts for content updates.
• Stay current on technical writing trends and publishing tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
