Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is recruiting an Application Delivery Technical Lead to guide software engineers, design solutions, and deliver code modules for enterprise software. The role partners with architects, developers and business users to ensure IT designs meet business needs and standards.

You will mentor teams, drive architecture decisions, and contribute hands-on in development while advancing project delivery across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5 years of experience in software development
• Experience with RPG, Java, SQL, Angular, APIs design
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Provides consultation on business requirements and functional specifications in logical program designs, code modules, application systems, and software solutions; facilitates transition to high level design
• Reviews the development or modification of highly complex, enterprise level software solutions
• 50/50 role with 50% design/mentorship and 50% hands-on delivery of code
• Develops and validates highly complex software design prototypes adhering to architecture standards
• Leverages technical direction for development, configuration, or modification of integrated business solutions
• Ensure detailed requirements, design and test scripts are documented for enhancements
• Responsible for code management and production deployment in IT controls
• Mentors others and provides input on options, risks, costs and benefits
• Facilitates implementation and maintenance of complex software solutions
