Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an Application Delivery Technical Lead to provide technical guidance to software engineers and oversee the delivery of enterprise software solutions. You will work with architects, developers and business users to ensure alignment with IT standards and business processes, while hands-on coding remains a key component of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience in database technologies.
• 5 years of experience on projects involving the SDLC.
• 3 years of experience in systems analysis with high level design.
• Experience with RPG, Java, SQL, Angular and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation on business requirements and functional specifications; support design and lifecycle with leadership input.
• Review development or modification of highly complex, enterprise software solutions.
• Balance design/mentorship with hands-on delivery (50/50).
• Develop and validate highly complex software design prototypes; ensure designs follow architecture standards.
• Guide development of integrated enterprise solutions; advise on interfaces and methods.
• Document detailed requirements, design, and test scripts for enhancements.
• Mentor staff and communicate options, risks, costs for software solutions.
• Facilitate deployment of released applications and ensure production readiness.
