Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an Application Delivery Technical Lead to guide software engineers, balance hands‑on coding with architecture, and ensure solutions meet business needs. You will collaborate with architects, developers, and business users while delivering quality, maintainable software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5 years of experience in software development
• 3 years of experience in database technologies
• 5 years of experience on projects involving the SDLC
• 3 years of experience in systems analysis with high level design
• Experience in RPG, Java, SQL, Angular, APIs design and implementation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership and problem‑solving skills

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation on business requirements and functional specifications; support project lifecycle
• Review development or modification of highly complex enterprise software solutions
• Balance design/mentorship with hands‑on delivery of code
• Develop and validate complex software designs ensuring adherence to standards
• Offer guidance on interfaces and methods for software solutions
• Ensure detailed requirements, design, and test scripts are documented for enhancements
• Lead code management and production deployment in line with IT policies
• Mentor others and share knowledge of company methodologies
