Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an Application Delivery Technical Lead to guide software engineers, architect solutions, and deliver code for enterprise systems. You will collaborate with architects, developers, and business users to align deliverables with IT standards.

You'll mentor teams, design prototypes, and ensure robust, scalable software. The role combines hands-on coding with technical leadership in a dynamic logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience in database technologies.
• 5 years of experience on projects involving the SDLC.
• 3 years of experience in systems analysis, including defining technical requirements and high level design.
• Experience with RPG, Java, SQL, Angular, APIs design and implementation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides consultation on business requirements and functional specifications in logical designs and software solutions; supports transition to high level design.
• Reviews the development or modification of highly complex, enterprise-level software solutions.
• 50/50 role with 50% design/mentorship/leadership and 50% hands-on coding delivery.
• Develops and validates highly complex software designs adhering to architecture standards.
• Guides the development and integration of software solutions across computing environments.
• Ensures detailed requirements, design, and test scripts are documented for enhancements.
• Oversees code management and production deployment per IT policies.
• Mentors team and shares knowledge of methodologies, policies, and controls.
