Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an Application Delivery Technical Lead to guide software engineers, shape architectural decisions, and deliver enterprise solutions. The role combines hands-on coding with mentoring, ensuring alignment with IT standards and business processes.

You will collaborate with architects, developers, and business users to drive solution delivery, while mentoring teams and delivering high-quality code modules across complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience in database technologies.
• 5 years of experience on projects involving the SDLC.
• 3 years of experience in systems analysis, including defining technical requirements.
• Experience with RPG, Java, SQL, Angular, APIs design and implementation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation on business requirements and functional specs in logical program designs and software solutions.
• Review development or modification of enterprise software solutions.
• Balance design/mentorship with hands-on delivery of code (50/50).
• Develop and validate highly complex software designs adhering to architecture standards.
• Guide technical directions for development and integration across environments.
• Document requirements, design, and test scripts for enhancements.
