Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking a skilled technical communicator in Portland, OR for a hybrid role, focusing on packaging technical content for drivers and technicians in English, French, and Spanish. You will lead content creation from subject matter experts and ensure accurate updates across HTML and print formats.

The position requires collaboration with engineering sources, strong writing and XML/DITA skills, and a track record of delivering clear, structured manuals and service

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in English, Writing, Journalism or related field, or BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience with technical content development, and/or technical writing.
• Demonstrated skill to develop and format technical manuals and Service Bulletins for readability.
• Demonstrated skill with authoring HTML Content, or XML content in DITA format.

Responsibilities

• Writes documentation for technical products, systems, processes, equipment operations & maintenance, research findings, for internal or external audiences.
• Determines an effective structure and layout for complex manuals and other technical documentation.
• Conducts research and liaises with technical staff to ensure accurate interpretation of complex technical data, drawings, and specification.
• Ensures that appropriate technical content and terminology review occurs and that provision is made for the incorporation of updates and revisions.
• Edits content to improve clarity, impact, flow, meaning, and readability.
