Job summary

Daimler Truck North America LLC. is seeking a skilled technical writer to lead the packaging of technical content for drivers and technicians. You will collaborate with subject matter experts to convert diverse information into accessible manuals and service documents.

You will work with Arbortext XML, Windchill, and HTML formats, ensuring accuracy and clarity. Hybrid schedule and a strong benefits package support your work and development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Writing, Journalism or related field, or BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience with technical content development, and/or technical writing.
• Demonstrated skill to develop and format technical manuals and Service Bulletins for Dealer and Fleet Technician’s readability.
• Demonstrated skill with authoring HTML Content, or XML content in DITA format.
• In-depth knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary.

Responsibilities

• Writes documentation for technical products, systems, processes, equipment operations & maintenance, research findings, etc. for internal or external audiences.
• Determines an effective structure and layout for complex manuals and other technical documentation.
• Conducts research and liaising with technical staff to ensure accurate interpretation of complex technical data, drawings, and specification.
• Ensures that appropriate technical content and terminology review occurs and that provision is made for the incorporation of updates and revisions.
• Edits content to improve clarity, impact, flow, meaning, and readability.
