Job summary

RLI Corp. is seeking a Technical Claim Director to oversee Personal Umbrella Liability claims, including auto, premises and personal liability.

This fully technical role emphasizes investigation, evaluation and proactive coverage analysis to achieve optimal outcomes for clients. The role requires a bachelor’s degree, 8+ years of legal or technical claims experience, and strong knowledge of umbrella/excess handling with the ability to work with primary carriers and defense counsel in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant legal or technical claims experience.
• Significant experience with large exposure third-party liability claims on primary/excess basis.
• Strong knowledge of umbrella/excess handling and management of outside counsel.
• Extensive knowledge of case law, statutes, and liability claims in FL, CA, NY, and TX.

Responsibilities

• Claims management of Personal Umbrella Liability claims with detailed investigation and evaluation.
• Coverage analysis with clear coverage letters as needed.
• Timely investigations into liability and damages to recognize exposures early.
• Focus on effective resolution strategies including reserve setting and liability investigations.
• Adherence to Best Practices in claims handling.
