Job summary
RLI Insurance Company seeks a Technical Claim Director to join the Personal Umbrella Major Case Unit. This fully technical, file-handling role oversees complex liability claims, including auto, premises, and personal liability, without people management responsibilities.
Ideal candidates have 8+ years of claims or legal experience, a bachelor’s degree (JD preferred), and strong analytical and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- JD strongly preferred.
- Significant experience with large exposure third-party liability claims.
Responsibilities
- Claims Management: Proactively handle Personal Umbrella Liability claims with detailed investigation and monitoring of primary carrier activities.
- Coverage Analysis: Investigate and analyze complex coverage issues with clear letters as needed.
- Investigation & Evaluation: Conduct timely investigations into liability and damages to recognize exposures early.
- Claims Resolution: Focus on effective resolution strategies, including liability investigations, damage assessments and reserve setting.
- Best Practices: Ensure adherence to RLI's Best Practices in all claims handling activities.
