Job summary

Border States in Albertville, MN, is seeking a Technical Application Engineer to support Sales Engineers and Account Managers in promoting products and securing orders. The role focuses on technical product application, customer support, and pre-sales activities with no coding responsibilities.

You will consult with customers, provide field troubleshooting, and develop bid documentation while collaborating with engineering staff and consultants. This is an on-site, customer-facing position.

Qualifications

• 4-year technical or engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of utility distribution and transmission systems preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Windows, Office, and SAP software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical, specific, or specialized product support for branches and customers.
• Delivers responsive, quality service to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Supports promotion of Border States' products and services and agency/distribution lines.
• Engages in technical discussions with consultants, customers, and colleagues about product technology/specifications.
• Follows up on quotations and technical inquiries in a timely manner.
• Trains customers and Border States staff on product lines and applications.
