Invenergy in Chicago seeks a Senior Accountant II, Technical Accounting, to support the research, application, and implementation of technical accounting matters across the accounting organization. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Technical Accounting, this role analyzes complex transactions, prepares accounting memoranda, and helps implement new accounting standards.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 4+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting, financial reporting, or technical accounting.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience researching accounting guidance and preparing analyses or position papers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to explain complex concepts.

Responsabilidades

• Technical Accounting Review contracts, agreements, and transactions to identify accounting implications and disclosure requirements.
• Research technical accounting matters and prepare memoranda supporting conclusions under U.S. GAAP.
• Own the accounting and reporting for the Company's lease portfolio (ASC 842); maintain lease accounting system and controls.
• Manage accounting and reporting for derivative instruments (ASC 815); coordinate with valuation providers and prepare analyses.
• Support implementation of new accounting standards and methodologies.
• Partner with Accounting, Tax, Finance, Legal, and Operations to identify and resolve emerging transactions.
• Support external audits with analyses and documentation of technical accounting matters.
• Contribute to development of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Participate in special projects requiring technical accounting analysis.
