Job summary

Invenergy LLC in Chicago is seeking a Senior Accountant II, Technical Accounting, to research, apply, and implement technical accounting matters across the accounting organization. Reporting to the Senior Manager, this role analyzes complex transactions and prepares accounting documentation.

This position is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong technical foundation who can develop expertise in complex topics within a fast-paced environment, including lease and derivative accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• 4+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting or financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and reporting principles.
• Experience researching accounting guidance and preparing analyses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and transactions for accounting implications.
• Research technical accounting matters and prepare memoranda under US GAAP.
• Own lease accounting for ASC 842 and related controls.
• Manage accounting for derivative instruments including hedge designations.
• Support implementation of new standards and policies.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Tax, Finance, Legal, and Operations.
• Support external audits with analyses and documentation.
• Contribute to policy development and internal controls.
• Participate in special projects requiring technical accounting analysis.
