Job summary

Micro Center is seeking self-motivated, results-driven Retail Computer Technicians to support customers at the service counter and in the shop. You will diagnose, repair, and explain service options while building customer loyalty through outstanding support.

During training you earn $18/hr; after training, pay ranges with productivity from $18–$34/hr. Benefits include health coverage, 401K, paid time off, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with one-year related computer service repair or technical customer service experience preferred.
• CompTIA A+ or Apple ACMT/ACiT certifications or ability to certify within 90 days of hire.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to multi-task.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for prolonged periods.
• Flexible shifts before/after store hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person consultations and troubleshooting at the service counter for computers and related retail products.
• Recommend service solutions: data backups, antivirus, extended warranties, subscriptions.
• Identify and document hardware/software problems across various devices.
• Assemble custom computers for BYO builds.
• Utilize manuals and vendor resources; maintain certifications; stay current on products.
• Maintain cash till, handle transactions, keep work area clean and inventory tracked.
• Communicate service status to customers via face-to-face, phone, text, and email.
