Job summary

Assort Health in San Francisco seeks a Senior People Partner (HRBP) for Tech to advise CTO, engineering and product leaders on organization design, growth and performance management. You will help set the standard for People Partners and will report to the SVP of People, working with People Operations and Recruiting as the company grows from hundreds to scale.

This is a builder's seat: you will design the function ahead of the curve, drive leveling, promotions, retention and employee relations,

Qualifications

• 5+ years in People Partner or HR Business Partner roles supporting engineering and product, including leadership experience.
• Hypergrowth experience at a technology company.
• Credibility with technical leaders and understanding of leveling, IC vs manager paths.
• Experience in calibrations, promotions, and career ladders.
• Knowledge of equity-heavy offers and engineering compensation.
• Strong employee relations and ability to work with Legal when needed.
• AI fluency and ownership in daily work.

Responsibilities

• Partner with technical leaders on org design and planning; design team structures and plan headcount.
• Own leveling, performance, and promotion processes for engineers and product managers; build career ladders.
• Support engineering hiring strategy, offer competitiveness, and equity philosophy.
• Make People Partnering AI-native; use AI to analyze org health data and draft documentation.
• Own employee relations and escalate to Legal when necessary; spot patterns and fix root causes.
• Coach engineering and product managers on feedback, conversations, and team dynamics.
• Drive retention and org health by tracking sentiment, attrition, and burnout signals.
