Palmdale Regional Medical Center seeks an ER Technician to provide patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse in the Emergency Department. You will follow the care plan and address the needs of patients from infancy through geriatric with a focus on safe, efficient flow.

Requirements include BLS certification, CPI within 30 days, and CA EMT/CNA/MA credentials or RN program progress. Competitive benefits are offered by the hospital system.

Qualifications

• One year experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association
• CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
• CA EMT, CNA or Medical Assistant required –OR- Currently enrolled in RN program with successful completion of 2 semesters of clinical coursework.
• Basic dysrhythmia certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administer patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
• Follow the plan of care set by the RN/physician; address age- and diagnosis-related needs.
• Maintain smooth patient flow in the Emergency Department.
• Perform direct and indirect patient care duties in the ER setting.

Position Description

Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services the ER Technician is responsible to administer patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Follows the plan of care set by the registered nurse and/or physician, managing the individual needs of the patient with regards to their age and clinical diagnosis. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in the Emergency Department in order to ensure and maintaining smooth patient flow. The E.R. Technician has specialized skills and knowledge in Emergency Care for all patients from infancy through geriatric.
