Job summary

Universal Health Services’ Palmdale Regional Medical Center in Palmdale, CA seeks an ER Technician to assist in the Emergency Department under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will provide direct and indirect patient care, support patient flow, and uphold age-appropriate care from infancy through geriatrics.

Required are one year of acute care experience, a high school diploma, BLS, CPI within 30 days, and CA EMT/CNA or Medical Assistant credentials, or current RN student with clinical

• One year experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association
• CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
• CA EMT, CNA or Medical Assistant required –OR- Currently enrolled in RN program with successful completion of 2 semesters of clinical coursework.
• Basic dysrhythmia certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Position Description:

Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services the ER Technician is responsible to administer patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Follows the plan of care set by the registered nurse and/or physician, managing the individual needs of the patient with regards to their age and clinical diagnosis. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in the Emergency Department in order to ensure and maintaining smooth patient flow. The E.R. Technician has specialized skills and knowledge in Emergency Care for all patients from infancy through geriatric.

Qualifications

Job Duties/Responsibilities Requirements:

• One year experience in an acute care setting preferred.


• High School graduate or equivalent required.


• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association


• CPI is required within 30 days of hire.


• CA EMT, CNA or Medical Assistant required –OR- Currently enrolled in RN program with successful completion of 2 semesters of clinical coursework.
