Job summary

Palmdale Regional Medical Center in Palmdale, CA, is seeking an experienced Sr. ER Technician to assist in the Emergency Department under the direction of a registered nurse or physician.

The role focuses on delivering direct and indirect patient care, following the care plan, and ensuring smooth patient flow in a high-volume ED. Responsibilities include handling a range of age groups from infancy to geriatric with specialized emergency care skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• One year of experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; CPT/LVN etc. certifications listed in Licenses may be required.

Responsibilities

• Administer patient care to designated ER patients under RN/physician supervision.
• Follow care plans and manage patient needs to maintain smooth ED flow.

Palmdale Regional Medical Center serves the region by providing high quality medical services to residents of the Antelope Valley, Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding communities. With the recent addition of the Rehabilitation Institute, the hospital features 184 licensed acute care beds as well as inpatient and outpatient surgery, cardiac services featuring a STEMI Receiving Center (heart attack) and a 35-bed 24-hour emergency department. The Center for Wound Care provides treatment for people with chronic non-healing wounds. This comprehensive wound-healing service includes hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Palmdale Regional Medical Center is active in the community and regularly participates with the Antelope Valley Board of Trade, Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance, Chambers of Commerce and other civic and governmental groups. Palmdale Regional Medical Center believes in "Community Service Excellence" and supports nonprofit agencies such as the American Cancer Society, United Way, the Antelope Valley Boys and Girls Club and performing arts organizations. Qualifications

EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:

• High School Graduate or equivilent
• One year experience in an acute care setting preferred

Certifications/Licenses

• Current CA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or LVN Blood withdrawal certification required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association
• CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
• EMT, CNA or Medical Assistant license required –OR- Currently enrolled in RN program with successful completion of 2 semesters of clinical coursework.Basic dysrhythmia certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
