Job summary

Colonial Group's VIP Auto location is seeking a Tech-Advisor (T/A) to help earn automotive customers for life by delivering a different and better experience through teamwork and VIP processes. Responsibilities span both service writer and installation technician duties, safety compliance, training, and ongoing certification, with a focus on customer engagement and productive, billable hours.

The position is non-exempt and hourly with a standard 5-day, 40-hour work week, requiring ASE

Qualifications

• One year of related experience in automotive service field.
• Two-year college or technical school program recommended.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current, valid driver’s license in the state of residence.
• ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required.
• ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended.
• ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended.
• ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
• ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
• State Inspection License required where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Safety first: enforce policies and train on safety.
• Assist customers at the counter as a service writer when needed.
• Work in the shop as a technician when required and complete services.
• Complete LMS and vendor trainings; obtain required ASE certifications.
• Improve customer engagement and achieve billed-hour targets.
• Communicate with the team and participate in meetings.
• Maintain facility and equipment cleanliness and orderly records.
• Enforce compliance with ethics and regulatory procedures.
