Job summary

Didlake, Inc. is seeking a Team Leader- Janitor Floor Care in Virginia Beach to plan and direct daily custodial work, ensuring compliance with contract requirements.

You will train staff on safety, operate floor care equipment, inspect work, and maintain equipment in a fast-paced environment. This full-time role requires leadership experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work the 3:00pm–11:00pm shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of commercial custodial or maintenance experience.
• Six months of prior leadership experience.
• Have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under Didlake’s automobile policy. Requirements include but are not limited to a minimum of 3 years of licensed driving and being at least 25 years old.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and able to obtain required background credentials.
• Access to the work site requires a valid Real ID.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assign daily custodial work for assigned routes or areas.
• Train employees on safety practices, equipment use, and Custodial SOPs.
• Issue and control supplies and equipment; submit routine supply requests.
• Inspect completed work, perform quality control inspections, and document results in CleanTelligent.
• Complete Daily Work Reports and communicate with management and facility representatives.
• Operate and perform preventive maintenance on floor care equipment.
• Address employee or customer concerns and escalate as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, PPE use, and contract requirements.
• Support individual program plans in coordination with Rehabilitation staff.
• Provide positive leadership that promotes teamwork, accountability, and professionalism.
• Perform other duties as assigned or outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW).

Why This Role Matters

The Team Leader- Janitor Floor Care plans, assigns, and prompts direct laborers assigned to route/area for daily work assignments to be done in accordance with contract requirements. This position also issues supplies and equipment to cleaning crews and inspects completed work for conformance to standards; is responsible for following and training employees in safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities; requisitions supplies and equipment from Supervisor; addresses complaints and resolves problems of employees and customers and, refers to supervisor as necessary. This individual must possess and demonstrate high initiative, adaptability, reliability, flexibility, and convey a positive team spirit attitude. Additionally, is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of all floor equipment used to perform the maintenance of all floor surfaces under government contract. Person in this position must also perform essential preventive maintenance on all equipment as outlined in the equipment operator’s manual and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Education & Experience
