Job summary

GTI Fabrication in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Working Lead to manage day-to-day team operations in welding and fabrication, serving as the SME on the shop floor and the first point of contact for employees. You will communicate project status and needs to leadership at day’s end and drive performance with precision.

Responsibilities include shaping department processes, collaborating with QA, ensuring proper manufacturing methodology, and guiding staff to meet deadlines while maintaining safety

Qualifications

• Two to four years related welding/fabrication experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating direct reports.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
• Versatility and flexibility with changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, analyzes, modifies, and implements department processes, policies, and procedures.
• Interfaces with QA manager to ensure high quality and develop better methods.
• Ensures approved manufacturing methodology is followed.
• Develops and communicates goals to improve plant performance.
• Performs the physical work of the department.
• Maintains knowledge of machine capacity and improves utilization.
• Adheres to safety rules and investigates accidents.
• Supervises staff and ensures compliance with policies and regulations.
• Provides day-to-day guidance and recognizes performance.
• Keeps up to date on team activities and addresses issues.
• Directly supervise employees and carry out supervisory responsibilities.
