Job summary

Ascension's Behavioral Health team in Milwaukee is seeking a dedicated Education Specialist to design and evaluate educational programs for hospitalized or recovering students. This full-time role focuses on ensuring academic continuity during treatment and transition back to the classroom.

You will guide student progress, create tailored lesson plans, assess performance, and coordinate with hospital care teams, school administrators, and teachers to align educational goals and re-entry plans.

Qualifications

• Teacher preferred.
• Experience in hospital or educational settings preferred.

• Guide student progress: Create custom lesson plans, assess academic performance, and adjust learning strategies to accommodate changing medical and developmental needs.
• Bridge communication across institutions: Serve as the primary liaison between hospital care teams, school administrators, and community teachers to align academic expectations.
• Facilitate smooth school transitions: Coordinate re-entry plans to help students safely and confidently reintegrate into their regular classroom environments after treatment.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

What minimum requirements you’ll need

• Teacher preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
