Job summary

DirectShifts is seeking a physician to perform detailed Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) assessments and complete VA-required documentation. The role focuses on reviewing records, evaluating cognitive and physical residuals, and preparing comprehensive reports without providing ongoing patient management.

The ideal candidate holds an MD or DO with board certification in Neurology, Psychiatry, or PM&R, and an active license in the practicing state.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Board Certification in Neurology, Psychiatry, or PM&R.
• Active unrestricted medical license in the practicing state.
• Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Compensation & Pension (C&P) examinations.
• Review Veterans' medical records, imaging, and supporting documentation prior to evaluations.
• Assess cognitive, emotional, behavioral, neurological, and physical residuals related to TBI.
• Complete VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare timely, objective, and detailed medical reports.
• Maintain compliance with VA standards, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely submission of completed evaluations.
