Job summary

UHY International in the United States seeks a Tax Principal to lead our tax practice, guiding strategy, client relationships, and high-level advisory services. The role focuses on developing innovative tax strategies, overseeing engagement performance, and mentoring a seasoned team, with emphasis on compliance, risk management, and driving business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in tax advisory or CPA firm settings.
• 8+ years of progressive tax leadership experience in a CPA firm or related professional service.
• CPA license required; must fulfill minimum CPE credits.
• Proficiency with tax software such as CCH Prosystem FX, Axcess Tax, Axcess Document, Axcess Workstream, Fixed Assets CS, and Checkpoint for Tax Research.

Responsibilities

• Tax Strategy and Engagement Oversight: Develop cutting-edge tax strategies and oversee engagements.
• Review and oversee the preparation of tax returns for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor filing deadlines and extensions to ensure timely submissions.
• Lead client meetings and tailor tax strategies to client objectives.
• Mentor and develop a team of tax professionals.
• Drive process improvements in tax workflows and quality control.
• Support business development, proposals, and client presentations.
• Collaborate with leadership to align tax services with firm goals.
• Supervise subordinate team members.
