UHY-US in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking a Tax Principal to lead our tax practice and shape innovative strategies while managing high-level client relationships. You will guide tax planning, oversee engagements, and drive the growth of our tax advisory services.

As a senior leader, you will supervise a team of tax professionals, ensure quality and compliance, and contribute to business development and strategic initiatives for the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 10+ years of relevant tax experience.
• 8+ years of progressive tax leadership experience in a CPA firm or related professional service environment.
• CPA license.
• Responsible for completing the minimum CPE credit requirement.
• Specific positions may require additional industry or specialization certifications.
• Software: CCH Prosystem FX, Axcess Tax, Axcess Document, Axcess Workstream, Thomson Reuters Checkpoint for Tax Research.

Responsabilités

• Develop cutting-edge tax planning strategies leveraging industry insights and regulatory expertise.
• Provide visionary insights in tax optimization, risk management, and emerging tax trends.
• Review and oversee the preparation of tax returns to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor and manage tax filing deadlines, extensions, and other compliance requirements.
• Lead engagement progress, budgets, and deadlines, making strategic adjustments as required.
• Stay abreast of evolving tax laws and industry developments, applying this to client engagements and training.
• Provide expert guidance on complex tax scenarios and research inquiries.
• Foster and nurture high-level client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor for complex tax matters.
• Lead client meetings, understand financial objectives, and develop tailored tax strategies.
• Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of seasoned tax professionals.
• Provide guidance and learning opportunities to advance the team.
• Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance tax workflows and quality control.
• Shape and execute the tax practice's strategic vision and innovations.
• Drive business development by identifying opportunities and expanding services.
• Collaborate with leadership on projects to enhance market presence and competitive edge.
