Job summary

UHY-US is seeking a Tax Principal to lead our tax practice, guiding strategic tax planning, client relationships, and team leadership. The role focuses on high-level advisory, risk management, and business development within a premier CPA firm environment.

The ideal candidate will have extensive tax advisory experience, CPA credential, and a proven track record in leadership and client service, with willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in tax.
• 8+ years of progressive tax leadership experience in a CPA firm or related professional service environment.
• CPA license is required.
• Responsible for completing the minimum CPE credit requirement.
• Specific positions may require additional industry or specialization certifications.
• Software: CCH Prosystem FX, Axcess Tax, Axcess Document, Axcess Workstream, Thomson Reuters Fixed Assets CS, Checkpoint for Tax Research.

Responsibilities

• Develop cutting-edge tax planning strategies using industry insights and regulatory expertise.
• Provide visionary insights in tax optimization, risk management, and emerging tax trends.
• Review and oversee preparation of tax returns for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor and manage tax filing deadlines, extensions, and other compliance requirements.
• Manage engagement progress, budgets, and deadlines with strategic adjustments.
• Stay abreast of evolving tax laws and industry developments, applying knowledge to client engagements.
• Lead client meetings and develop tailored tax strategies aligned with client goals.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals for growth and excellence.
• Drive process improvements to enhance tax workflows and quality control procedures.
• Identify new business opportunities and support proposal development and client presentations.
