640 UHY Advisors Great Lakes, Inc. seeks a Tax Principal to lead our tax practice, guide client engagements, and drive strategic growth. The role emphasizes client relationship management, high-level advisory, and team leadership in a CPA environment.

You will develop innovative tax strategies, oversee engagement delivery, mentor staff, and collaborate with leadership to shape the practice’s direction while ensuring regulatory compliance and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• 8+ years of progressive tax leadership experience in a CPA firm or related professional service environment.
• CPA license.
• Responsible for completing the minimum CPE credit requirement.
• Specific positions may require additional industry or specialization certifications.

Responsibilities

• Tax Strategy and Engagement Oversight: Develop cutting-edge tax planning strategies and oversee tax return preparation for accuracy and compliance.
• Research and Analysis: Stay abreast of evolving tax laws and apply knowledge to client engagements.
• Client Communication: Lead high-level client meetings and tailor tax strategies to clients' objectives.
• Team Collaboration: Mentor a team of tax professionals and foster growth.
• Process Improvement and Innovation: Lead tax workflow improvements and align with firm strategy.
• Strategic Business Development: Drive firm growth through opportunities and proposals.
• Supervisory responsibilities: Manage and develop subordinate team members.
