Harding, Shymanski & Co., P.S.C. in Evansville seeks an experienced Tax Practice Coordinator to join our firm.

You will blend client service with internal operations, acting as the process owner to keep engagements moving and delivering high-quality, timely work. In this role, you will coordinate onboarding, billing cycles, documentation, and communications across Indiana and Kentucky, mentoring interns and supporting senior staff during peak seasons.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's or bachelor's in business, accounting, or related field preferred.
• 1 year of administrative/coordination/client-support experience in a professional services environment preferred.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Professional written and verbal communication at all organizational levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and tax workflow software familiarity.
• Experience with client-facing responsibilities and deadline-driven workflows.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary client intake contact for assigned team members or engagement types.
• Coordinate client communication, document collection, and secure delivery.
• Monitor engagement timelines and flag at-risk deliverables.
• Support signature tracking, document follow-ups, and engagement letters.
• Maintain a consistent, professional client experience from first contact to delivery.
• Manage calendars and coordinate meetings for tax professionals.
• Support meeting follow-up, agenda prep, and action-item tracking.
• Assist with billing coordination and reporting.
• Support department-wide strategic initiatives with initiative leads.
• Mentor busy-season interns and coordinate intern projects.
• Provide backup coverage for other Tax Practice Coordinator tasks.
• Prepare tax notice responses and simplified Form 1040 returns, as assigned.
