Job summary

DoorDash, Inc. is seeking an experienced Manager, Tax Technology to lead the tax platform and business projects, bridging tax, product, and engineering.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of indirect tax or indirect tax technology experience.
• Experience with US sales and use tax; Canada GST/HST/PST; Australia and NZ GST in food/beverage or retail.
• Hands-on experience implementing or configuring Vertex O Series and ERP tax integration (e.g., NetSuite).
• Translate business/tax requirements into functional system requirements and review technical docs.
• Lead cross-functional delivery with Engineering, Product, TAP and other stakeholders.
• People leadership or team leadership experience.
• Proficient with productivity tools (Google Sheets/Docs/Slides; Monday.com, JIRA).
• Experience with SQL or Snowflake for data self-serve, issue investigation, or testing validation.
• Experience with API testing tools like Postman, SOAP UI; read XML/JSON logs.
• Accounting/Finance/IT/CS degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax platform and business projects on the DoorDash platform, including new verticals, merchants, partnerships, and product launches.
• Gather requirements from TAP, Tax Product, and stakeholders; translate into functional tax requirements for configuration, testing and delivery.
• Review BRDs, PRDs, and TDDs for tax-system implications and provide tax expertise to engineering.
• Define testing requirements and oversee unit, integration, E2E, shadow, and post-launch validations.
• Trace tax-relevant data from upstream systems through Vertex to reporting; flag gaps or risks.
• Validate readiness for production releases and document post-launch lessons learned.
• Serve as functional bridge between non-tax stakeholders and tax technology teams.
• Collaborate with US/Mexico peers and offshore teams for workload sharing and knowledge transfer.
