Job summary

Depot Connect International in Channelview, TX is seeking a skilled welder to join our fabrication team. You will weld and fit mild and stainless steel components, using MIG/TIG processes, perform cutting and grinding, and repair parts as needed in an industrial setting.

Candidates should read measurements and job sheets, wear a respirator when required, and maintain a clean, safe workspace in accordance with OSHA policies.

Qualifications

• Welding and fitting skills required.
• Ability to operate an acetylene torch.
• Read and comprehend measurements and job sheets.
• Experience working in an industrial environment.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Welding Certification is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Role overview:

Handles welding and fitting both mild steel and stainless steel, welding parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes. Performs thermal cutting and grinding, repairing broken or cracked parts, filling holes, increasing the size of metal parts.

Position Responsibilities:

• Must be able to utilize both MIG and TIG
• Order and receive parts and supplies as needed
• Adheres to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies and standards to include identification, use, and proper procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous wastes
• Clean, organize and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety
• Ability to wear a respirator
