Job summary

Phillips Tank & Structure (PTS) is seeking a full-time Tank Builder/Welder for a nationwide role. With over 190 employees and multiple branch offices, PTS designs, repairs, and constructs above-ground metal storage tanks for diverse industries.

You will join a team focused on quality, on-time delivery, and professional growth across the country. Reqs include strong communication, problem solving, strict attendance, and a readiness to undergo background checks and drug testing.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and adapt.
• Be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the United States.
• Willing to undergo background checks and drug testing.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and be open to motor vehicle checks.
• Welding capability is a plus for the role.

Responsibilities

• Perform arc and torch cutting and gouging.
• Operate generators, compressors, tuggers, blowers, grinders, and other power tools.
• Weld plates with 7018, 7024 and 6010 SMAW, FCAW, and submerged arc machines.
• Use come-alongs, hydraulic jacks, hoists, air bags, winches, and other lifting equipment.
• Use tank shell buggies, scaffoldings, ladders, and other equipment.
• Perform vacuum box tests, oil tests, dye penetrant tests, and other NDT exams.
• Use gas monitors, fresh air kits, respirators, and safety gear.
• Operate forklifts, man lifts, boom lifts and other large lifting equipment.
• Read erection and fabrication drawings; plan welding, fitting, and tank construction sequences.
• Complete job safety analyses, site safety training, and audits.
• Follow directions and work professionally with crew members; perform other duties.
