Job summary

Phillips Tank & Structure, a nationwide tank construction company, is hiring a Tank Builder/Welder to support above-ground storage tank projects across the country. You will read drawings, perform welding and cutting, and work with a crew to install and repair tanks.

We value reliability, safety, and teamwork. Candidates should be able to lift 50 lbs, pass background checks, and have a high school diploma; welding experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Problem-solving and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work safely and follow procedures.
• Hold a valid driver's license and be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Eligible to work in the United States and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform arc and torch cutting and gouging.
• Operate power and air tools including generators and grinders.
• Weld plate with SMAW, FCAW and related processes.
• Use tank shell buggies, scaffolding and ladders.
• Conduct non-destructive tests like vacuum box/oil/dye penetrant.
• Use gas monitors and safety equipment in daily work.
• Operate forklifts and other heavy lifting equipment.
• Read erection and fabrication drawings.
• Plan fitting, welding, repairing and constructing tanks.
• Complete safety analyses and site-specific training.
• Follow directions and collaborate with crew.
• Other duties as assigned.
