Job summary

Irby Construction Company is hiring an Assistant Project Manager to support Transmission and Distribution power line construction projects. You will assist in scheduling, budgeting, documentation, and coordination with field operations and vendors.

The role offers exposure to engineering, estimating, project controls, procurement, and safety, with travel to multiple project sites and a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in engineering, design, construction, estimating or scheduling is helpful.
• Knowledge of project controls and procurement processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist PM with planning and execution of transmission and distribution projects.
• Develop initial project schedules with engineering and procurement teams.
• Coordinate daily activities with field supervision and crews.
• Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Support safety planning, incident reporting, and investigations.
• Track costs, forecasts, and prepare management reports.
• Document changes, prepare pricing and change orders.
• Maintain project records, RFIs, submittals, and contracts.
• Visit sites to observe progress and quality, and ensure safety compliance.
• Assist with project closeout and warranty administration.
