Job summary

Irby Construction Company is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing Transmission and Distribution power line construction projects. You will help manage schedules, costs, documentation, and field coordination across multiple projects.

The role offers hybrid work with significant office presence at Richland, MS and travel to supported sites. A relevant degree and construction/PM experience are preferred for candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Science/Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Experience in engineering, design, construction, estimating, scheduling, bidding, project management, contract administration, field supervision, budget control, safety, or quality assurance is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with planning and execution of transmission and distribution power line construction projects.
• Develop initial project schedules with engineering, estimating, project controls, procurement, and construction management staff.
• Coordinate daily project activities with field supervision and crews; communicate schedule updates to stakeholders.
• Support project budgets, costs tracking, and forecasting; assist with change orders and related documentation.
• Refer to safety plans, incident reporting, and safety investigations with Health and Safety personnel.
• Prepare meeting notes, progress reports, and other management reporting.
• Monitor progress, identify delays, and communicate issues to leadership; assist with closeout and warranty activities.
