Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Manager Systems Engineering 2 in California for a role that blends technical SOW work with functional homeroom management. The position supports San Diego, Palmdale, or El Segundo locations.

You will lead 8–15 engineers, hire and develop staff, and drive performance while maintaining a Top Secret clearance and SAP/PAR readiness. The package includes comprehensive benefits and a competitive base salary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 9+ years combined technical and management experience, or Master’s Degree with 7+ years.
• Experience in at least one SE area: Requirements and Verification, Operations Analysis, Modeling and Simulation, Systems Analysis, System Architecture, Mission Integration or MBSE.
• Experience leading an engineering team or project.
• Active USG Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
• Ability to obtain initial SAP/PAR before employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a section of systems engineers (8-15 personnel)
• Be responsible for hiring, development, training, and retention of section talent
• Provide leadership and direction and manage employee performance
• Oversee day-to-day operation and resource balancing across programs
