Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in El Segundo seeks a Systems Engineer Manager 2 (Functional Homeroom) to join our team. The role blends 80% technical SOW work with 20% functional homeroom leadership within an Integrated Product Team construct.

The successful candidate will lead 10–15 engineers, drive staffing decisions across programs, and ensure performance, mentoring and compliance with corporate policies. Travel up to 20% and TS clearance required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher STEM degree with related engineering experience.
• Experience with project planning, cost, schedule & performance, including Earned‑Value.
• Active in‑Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance and SAP/PAR eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide functional leadership to a section of 10–15 engineers, building accountability and driving innovation.
• Coordinate staffing and de-staffing actions across programs as needed.
• Manage performance evaluations, salary reviews, and mentoring for team members.
• Handle special assignments and data calls to support the functional homeroom.
• Drive policy compliance, timecards, safety, security and configuration control.
