Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr Principal Systems Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA or Palmdale, CA. You will support SRR/PDR activities, coordinate across IPTs, and develop design artifacts for reviews and verification.

The ideal candidate has a STEM degree with significant experience, active DoD Top Secret clearance (with SAP/PAR eligibility), and strong leadership and communication skills to interface with external customers.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8 years related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree with 6 years; OR a PhD with 4 years.
Understanding of Interface Control artifacts and requirements in large systems.
Active DoD Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or Continuous Evaluation).
Ability to obtain and maintain initial SAP/PAR prior to employment and subsequent SAP PARs as needed.

Responsibilities

Support SRR and PDR of new development projects.
Collaborate with engineers on system design, end-to-end traceability, data analyses, interface verification, and failure/anomaly resolution.
Independently develop methods to automate design/testing processes and documentation.
Develop artifacts to support design reviews, system integration, verification, and validation.
Attend/prep materials for Engineering Design Reviews and coordinate software interfaces across contracts.
Host/review meetings and provide technical oversight as required.
Brief stakeholders on technical presentations and coordinate across IPTs and external customers.
