Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in the United States is seeking a Systems Development Engineer to own the design and implementation of automation architecture for Windows infrastructure.

You will build Ansible frameworks, AWS pipelines, and operational tooling to scale services and reduce manual work. You will participate in an on‑call rotation, fix incidents, and design automation to prevent recurrence while maintaining SCIF compliance and security posture.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
• Cloud+ or GICSP or GSEC or SSCP, or Associate's degree or above.
• 5+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement experience.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, ops automation, and configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
• Working familiarity with Windows Server infrastructure: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy.

Responsibilities

• Own automation architecture: Design and implement the Ansible automation framework that manages Core Services infrastructure at scale.
• Build delivery pipelines: Develop and maintain AWS CI/CD pipelines that deliver infrastructure changes through tested deployments.
• Instrument and monitor: Build CloudWatch-based observability with dashboards, alarms, and metrics.
• Operate and support: Maintain production Windows infrastructure services; participate in on‑call rotation.
• Eliminate manual operations: Migrate manual runbook processes to code‑defined automation.
• Establish engineering standards: Define patterns for infrastructure-as-code, testing, code.
