Job summary
Amazon is seeking a Systems Development Engineer to deliver next-generation fulfillment systems using advanced technology across multiple sites in North America. You will liaise between Fulfillment Center Operations and product development to deploy complex automation solutions, validate deployments, and optimize the deployment lifecycle.
Ideal candidates will have automation experience across lab and field testing, strong collaboration skills, and a track record of owning deployment projects
Qualifications
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
- Proficiency in at least one modern language (Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust).
- Experience with CI/CD build processes and Linux/Unix environments.
- Bachelor's degree required; 3+ years control system experience incl. PLC/IPC designs.
- Experience with automated material handling equipment and robotics.
Responsibilities
- Deliver cross-functional deployments that are high-quality, on time, on budget, and low-defect across programs.
- Drive deployment schedules, establish milestones, and report KPI metrics.
- Deep-dive into solutions for sorter systems, material handling, and connectivity validation.
- Develop scripts and deployment tools to improve efficiency and scale.
- Contribute to design reviews and support between internal teams and vendors.
- Communicate project status and provide clear summaries to PM team.
- Capture VoC for new product introductions and influence triage with Product Development.
