Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Systems Engineer I to deploy robotics and packaging technologies across North America’s fulfillment centers. You will coordinate installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting, leading engineering teams on dynamic projects with heavy travel to live warehouses and new sites.

The role requires strong electrical/mechanical skills, CAD reading, and data‑driven decision making, with frequent collaboration across hardware, software, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 1+ year experience with technical drawings and CAD models.
• 1+ year experience with mechanical, electrical, IT networked, or software systems.
• Understanding of data collection, reporting processes, and ability to make data‑driven decisions.
• Ability to read technical drawings and/or CAD models to resolve on‑site clash issues using 3D clash detection reports.
• Ability to troubleshoot robotics systems to resolve escalations including quality hand‑off, live order testing, site acceptance testing, operational readiness testing, monitoring robotics system performance, etc.
• Ability to read and develop technical documentation and process instructions.
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to work primarily in a construction or warehouse environment in a field‑based role and travel extensively across the US and potentially internationally.
• Must be proficient in standard office software tools and processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight on installation of robotics equipment that may be in various phases of the product life cycle.
• Support and guide installation of robotics, packaging and sortation technologies at Amazon fulfillment centers.
• Develop knowledge of robot operation, guide installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting on site and remotely.
• Manage day to day project scheduling and budget management.
• Travel to project sites and collaborate virtually and in person to align stakeholders on program status.
• Lead teams of other engineers on projects.
• Travel to live warehouses and construction sites, with extensive travel.
