Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Nashville, TN is seeking a Systems Development Engineer to join our Technology Deployment - Systems Integration team. You will work with cross-functional teams to deploy and validate advanced automation, capturing the voice of the customer and delivering scalable solutions.

Travel up to 75% across North America, participate in design reviews, develop deployment tools, and ensure safety, reliability, and performance of fulfillment systems.

Qualifications

• Experience automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes.
• Experience with Linux/Unix.
• Bachelor's degree.
• 3+ years control system experience including PLC/IPC based controls design, development, implementation and support.
• Experience with designs of complex, automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, or systems including robotics.
• Experience working technical documentation such as flow diagrams, conveyor and equipment layouts, and installation details.
• Demonstrated understanding of life-cycle embedded systems development including hardware, software, testing and implementation.
• Experience in testing and implementing software (embedded OS and programming).
• Experience in industrial networking and communications including topology design and familiarity with TCP/IP and Fieldbus applications.
• Experience with 3-phase electrical systems

Responsibilities

• Deliver cross-functional deployments that are high-quality, on time, on budget, and low-defect across multiple programs.
• Capture and present KPI metrics to evaluate project success and identify areas for improvement.
• Deep dive technical solutions for sortation, material handling, and connectivity validation between control systems and equipment.
• Develop and maintain scripts, automation tools, and deployment utilities to improve engineering efficiency.
• Author and contribute to internal tooling and configuration code for deployment workflows.
• Participate in design reviews and support execution between internal teams and outside vendors.
• Communicate project status clearly and produce concise summaries for program management.
• Capture VoC for new product introductions and influence triage with Product Development teams.
• Build relationships with FC/SC management and other stakeholders across sites.
• Develop deployment standards, SOPs, and runbooks for scalable execution.
• Identify process improvement initiatives to support operations or engineering.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
• Travel up to 75% across North America.
