Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Systems Development Engineer to lead the deployment and integration of advanced fulfillment systems. You will work as a liaison between Fulfillment Center Operations and product development, owning deployment processes and validating tests in lab and field environments.

You will guide implementation of complex system designs, ensure safety and efficiency, and participate in the full system development life cycle.

Qualifications

• Experience programming in at least one modern language (C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby).
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
• 1+ years control system experience including PLC/IPC based controls design and implementation (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, CODESYS).
• Experience with automated material handling equipment and robotics.
• Experience documenting technical designs, diagrams, and installation details.
• Understanding of embedded systems development lifecycle (hardware, software, testing).
• Experience in industrial networking and Fieldbus/TCP/IP.

Responsibilities

• Support installation of complex cross-functional projects with large impact.
• Deliver high-quality cross-functional projects on time and on budget.
• Define milestones, track KPIs, and communicate progress to management.
• Deep-dive into technical solutions across controls and software for deployment.
• Participate in design reviews and coordinate with vendors and internal teams.
• Capture VoC for new product introductions and prioritize defects accordingly.
• Build relationships with Fulfillment Center and operations teams across sites.
• Identify process improvements to support deployment or engineering teams.
• Travel up to 75% across North America.
