Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is hiring a Systems Development Engineer to lead the development and deployment of next-generation fulfillment systems. You will bridge Fulfillment Center Operations with product development, owning deployment processes and validating solutions in lab and field settings.

The role requires designing and integrating advanced technology, ensuring safety, stability, and efficiency while collaborating with internal teams and outside vendors across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer/Systems Engineering or related field.
• Experience with Unix scripting and modern programming languages (C++, C#, Java, Python).
• Experience leading design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure.
• Experience with automated material handling and robotics high-speed manufacturing.
• Knowledge of routing protocols, topology, and traffic engineering.

Responsibilities

• Support installation of cross-functional projects across geographies.
• Deliver high-quality cross-functional projects on-time and on-budget.
• Define milestones, drive schedules, and present KPI metrics.
• Deep dive into technical solutions for conveyors, material handling, and commissioning.
• Participate in design reviews with internal teams and external vendors.
• Communicate project status clearly to program management.
• Capture VoC for new product introductions and prioritize defects.
• Build relationships with Fulfillment Center teams across sites.
• Identify process improvements supporting operations and deployment.
• Collaborate with vendors to deliver cost-effective solutions.
• Travel up to 75% in North America.
