Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Systems Development Engineer in Nashville to lead the deployment and integration of advanced automation systems for fulfillment operations. You will collaborate with Fulfillment Center teams and product development, drive system design changes, and own deployment tests in lab and field environments.

You will lead integration across hardware, software, and control systems, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency while navigating ambiguous problem spaces.

Qualifications

• Experience automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
• Experience programming with Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
• Experience with Linux/Unix.
• 3+ years in control system design, development, and support (e.g., PLC/IPC, Allen-Bradley, Siemens/CODESYS).
• Experience with automated material handling equipment and robotics (FANUC/ABB/UR).
• Experience documenting systems with flow diagrams, layouts, and installation details.
• Understanding life-cycle embedded systems development (hardware, software, testing, deployment).
• Experience with embedded software development, testing, and deployment.
• Experience with industrial networking and TCP/IP/Fieldbus.
• Experience with 3-phase electrical systems.
