Job summary

McMillan Pazdan Smith is seeking a Systems Administrator to maintain and secure the firm’s IT infrastructure, cloud services, identity systems, and endpoint management. The role provides technical support, implements improvements, and handles scheduled upgrades across multiple offices.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of systems administration experience, strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, and experience with deployment automation and endpoint management tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of systems administration across servers, identity, endpoint, and infrastructure.
• Experience with Windows Server, Microsoft 365, AD, Entra ID, and endpoint management.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, security, backup and recovery concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical stakeholders; relevant certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain servers, cloud services, virtualization platforms, storage, backups, and core IT systems.
• Develop and automate packaging and deployment of complex applications including Autodesk AEC suite.
• Manage Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, user access controls, group management, and related identity services.
• Support endpoint management, application patching, OS configuration, device compliance, and lifecycle processes.
• Manage application updates and patching cadences for Autodesk products and other enterprise applications.
• Monitor system health, performance, availability, and security; proactively address issues to reduce business disruption.
• Perform system upgrades, patching, configuration changes, vulnerability remediation, and routine maintenance activities.
• Serve as escalation point for complex technical issues, providing root-cause analysis and timely resolution.
• Provide guidance to help desk technicians and contribute specialized knowledge in cybersecurity, cloud services, networking, and application support.
• Travel to other office locations as needed.
• Stay current on technology trends, security practices, and infrastructure best practices to support continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, procedures, and perform other duties as directed.
